Research Navigator Membership Terms and Conditions
UK-only version
1. Application of these terms
1.1 These terms and conditions ("Terms") apply to the Research Navigator membership ("Membership") operated by Dr Margaret Collins ("we", "us", "our"). By registering for Membership you agree to these Terms and that they take precedence over any other terms or conditions unless we have agreed otherwise with you in writing.
1.2 These Terms should be read alongside our Website Terms of Use and Privacy Notice, and our Acceptable Use Policy where this applies.
1.3 The agreement between us comes into effect when we confirm your Membership has been accepted, normally by email, and continues until it ends in accordance with clause 6.
1.4 If you register online, the order process is: you add the Membership to your basket and complete checkout; we send an email confirming your Membership has started. If you think an error has been made with your order, email us at info@MargaretCollins.com straight away.
1.5 Where you are a corporate entity, or your Membership is being paid for by an employer, "you" includes your officers and employees using the Membership and you must ensure they comply with these Terms.
2. What Membership gives you
2.1 Research Navigator is a single-tier membership. It gives you access, for as long as your Membership continues, to the full resource library — including Roadmaps, Navigator Briefings, Briefing Notes, and recorded Workshops (together, the "Materials") — and to the monthly live community call.
2.2 There is no drip-feed or release schedule. Everything in the library is available to you from the day your Membership starts.
2.3 We may add to, remove, or update the Materials from time to time as the library develops. Membership gives you access to a living, growing library, not a guarantee that any specific item will remain available indefinitely.
2.4 We may, at our discretion, decline or withdraw Membership. We will normally only withdraw Membership for a breach of these Terms or of our Acceptable Use Policy.
2.5 You must keep your login details confidential and tell us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.
2.6 You may only communicate with other members for purposes connected with your Membership and must not send other members unsolicited promotional material.
3. Payment and term
3.1 Membership is charged monthly in advance at the rate shown on the order form at the time you join.
3.2 Membership is rolling with no minimum term. It continues, and payment is taken automatically each month, until you cancel in accordance with clause 6.
3.3 The rate you join at is protected for as long as your Membership continues without a break. If you cancel and later rejoin, the rate current at the time you rejoin will apply.
3.4 If a payment is not received when due, we may suspend your access to the Materials until payment is received.
3.5 We are not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged on the price shown. If we become VAT registered in future, the price shown is exclusive of VAT, which will be added at the applicable rate.
4. Our obligations
4.1 We will use reasonable care and skill in providing the Membership and the Materials.
4.2 We will do our best to keep the Materials accurate and current, but the Materials are provided for general professional development purposes and do not constitute individual advice on your specific circumstances.
4.3 We will process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Notice.
5. Intellectual property
5.1 We are the owner or licensee of all intellectual property rights in the Materials and everything else made available to you as part of your Membership.
5.2 We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Materials for your own professional development for as long as your Membership continues. You must not copy, share, republish, sell, or otherwise make the Materials available to anyone who is not a current member.
5.3 You must not record, screenshot for redistribution, or otherwise capture the Materials beyond what is reasonably needed for your own personal use.
5.4 This clause 5 survives the end of your Membership.
6. Cancellation and ending your Membership
6.1 If you are purchasing as a consumer, you have the right to cancel within 14 days of joining, without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. To cancel within this period, email us at info@MargaretCollins.com or use the cancellation form at Annex 1.
6.2 By accessing the Materials before the 14-day period ends, you agree that we may begin supplying this digital content straight away, and you acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel in relation to any Materials you have already accessed once supply has begun. Where you cancel within the 14 days having accessed some but not all of the Materials, we will refund you in proportion to what has not yet been supplied.
6.3 After the initial 14-day period, you may cancel your Membership at any time by emailing us at info@MargaretCollins.com or through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for. We do not refund the current period.
6.4 We may end your Membership on written notice with immediate effect if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy, or if you act fraudulently or dishonestly.
6.5 If we discontinue Research Navigator altogether, we will give you at least 30 days' notice before ending your Membership.
7. Liability
7.1 Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
7.2 Subject to clause 7.1, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, business, or goodwill, arising from your Membership.
7.3 Subject to clause 7.1, our total liability to you in connection with your Membership is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
7.4 This clause 7 survives the end of your Membership.
8. General
8.1 By joining, you confirm that you are legally capable of entering into this agreement and are at least 18 years old.
8.2 You may not transfer your Membership to another person without our written consent.
8.3 Notices to us should be sent to info@MargaretCollins.com. We may notify you by email to the address on your account.
8.4 If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues in effect.
8.5 Membership is currently only available to individuals resident in the United Kingdom.
8.6 These Terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
8.7 We may update these Terms from time to time. We will give you reasonable notice of any material change before it takes effect.
