Introduction to Developing Professional Networks

Hello and welcome to Developing Professional Networks.

I'm Margaret Collins. I am a professional leadership and career coach and a trainer. For most of my career, for over 20 years, I was an at-the-bench researcher. I did a PhD in molecular microbiology. I became a lecturer and a senior lecturer. I know both how important networking was to my career development and also how difficult I found it in those early years.

Of course I'm going to share that with you the skills that you need to network effectively, strategies that you can use to consciously develop your network. And of course, I want to do all of this, while allowing you to minimize any stress or anxiety.

  • The importance of networking
  • Developing communication skills
  • Delivering a message
  • Dealing with nerves or anxiety.

So do get your pen and paper ready. Download the workbook so you can take notes as you go through the videos. The next lessons are waiting for you below.
