In addition to research team meetings, you do need to check-in with individual students - how often depends on the student and on their stage of progress. It's okay for you as a supervisor, to set that programme and to adjust it flexibly as the student goes through their PhD.

It's really important to get a new student off to a good start and to think about what happens for those initial meetings.

I also want to encourage you, as a supervisor, to have that more big picture view of the supervision process and how meetings contribute to progression, skills development and monitoring of progress through the PhD.
